Where the Light Gets In

By DHThomas

Busy at night

summer weather's back
more people on trestel beach
even late at night

Of course the photo wasn't taken "late at night", but the haiku remains true: quite a lot of people were still on the beach around 10 pm... The weather has indeed improved over the past few days and will again in the next few days; temperatures will rise to more seasonal levels, too.

In the morning, I had a good talk with Julie. Not "my" Julie, but the young woman who is in charge of cultural activities here (it is she who drove us to the market in Perros-Guirec - see my blip for Tuesday). I talked to her about my "Patient hands" series and asked whether she thought an exhibition would be possible. She was enthusiastic and she talked to me about an artist residency in September/October. The artist in question is a photographer (Frédérique Aguillon), and she will endeavour to work on the theme of the family, which is a good idea here, as we are separated from our families. There will be collective meetings and one-to-one meetings, and with our families. What is very special is that the artist is an amputee (she lost a leg at 11), so her link to the centre is strong. I'm really curious to see what we can do...

My parents visited and we spent a very nice afternoon; we even went out of the building by the sea.
