Mouthful of Birds

On a day of miserable weather when it scarcely seemed possible that England managed to bowl Australia out at Headingley, just 15 miles away. It never stopped drizzling here all day. It was heading towards being a disastrous day at 136-2, but Archer clawed it back to get the last wicket, just before 7.30pm. All out for 179. I had just about given the Ashes away, or at least, the series being a close contest. Game on now.

And on a day of reading these weird and wonderful short stories, keeping me occupied during the breaks for rain. A new discovery. They don't all work for me, but the ones that do are superb. And they're all compelling in different ways.
