A tour of Tobermory

Today I'd planned to go over to Mull to take Daughter One across to Morvern for a distillery tour. The company operates its own small boat from Tobermory and were unsure if it would be running because of possible windy weather.

We arrived in Tobermory having taken the bus from Craignure, only to find that the boat was cancelled and the tour therefore off! I'm not really sure why as the sea appeared to be pretty calm, there was no wind and boats and ferries were coming and going all day! So we'll try again in a couple of weeks.

Instead, we had a coffee in a cafe, went for a walk through the woods around the coast, explored some of the town's many roads and tried the local gin. We had a look at the sale of Himalayan clothing and I took this picture in the entrance hall.

We also explored the local church; very sadly the popular minister died recently in a hillwalking accident.

Back to Craignure and a sunny trip back to Oban, dozing on the deck!
