Reflecting

Slightly less mad day than recently. An office morning with phone conference and catching up, then to Book Festival for an interesting lunch and discussion. Afterwards I had half an hour before my next thing so got a cup of tea and a Toni Morrison book and sat in the sun and read quietly. Lovely to have a sense of relaxing into a book in a conducive environment. Into next event...ACGrayling. I wouldn’t have gone if it hadn’t been that the event was being chaired by a new philosophy Prof and I thought the conversation would be interesting as a result. Well, AC wasn’t having any of that. Did a 45minute lecture (talk about a narrow perspective and an arrogant style!) answered 3 or 4 audience questions (unconvincingly) then left. Grr! Not helped because when I checked email there was another wee bomb there. I give up! Phoned C to moan then walked back to the office to do some more work before meeting S to go to the Shanghai fashion show. Not the most exciting but I chose this photo more for the audience faces than the outfit.
Walked back to get another good pizza from the new neighbourhood place before defrosting the freezer ready for pick up tomorrow (and trying to cope with all the water when we have no mop, newspaper or indeed anything else any use for the job!), then sitting in the only two chairs left to watch something on the iPad. Talk about squatting in a place!
