Severn Valley Railway

The trip to Kidderminster Harriers is always one of the best away days of the season and today was no exception in fantastic weather.

First of all we stopped at Arley and had a terrific walk along the River Severn and found a few geocaches. We were also fortunate to see the steam trains running and this was a good Railway Children movement for today's blip.

Next stop was Kidderminster itself where we went down to our favourite pub, the King and Castle in the old railway station then it was up to the ground for a cottage pie. The food at Kiddy is always a highlight and must be the best football food in the country (see here for last year's cottage pie)

As for the game itself Chester continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 1-0 win and I have to say we are actually looking quite useful. An opposition player has still to score against us in open play as we have conceded 3 own goals and a penalty so far. We are now up to 3rd and it looks like we could be making a decent promotion challenge although I think York City will be the team to beat.

Anyway it was an excellent away day.
