Wanderings & Witterings

Pilgrims

Having just about completed the John Muir Way in stages over the past three or four years, my friends and I decided to make a start on the Fife Pilgrim Way on Saturday.

We met up in Dunfermline (see extra) and started, as we do, with coffee and a catch-up and a wander round the Abbey Church before actually stepping out on our walk. After a wrong turn or two in Pittencrieff Park (mea culpa) and a missed signpost or two getting out of the town, we were on our way.

A varied walk of just under nine miles in warm, sunny weather, with a stop for lunch in a garden centre (pesky wasps notwithstanding) midway, got us into Culross around 5pm. After a short wander round (and some cold drinks) we then headed off home in our different directions.

It had taken us a little longer than anticipated, but it was a most enjoyable day out with friends. Nine miles down, 55 to go!
