Life in Sunny Dubai

Glorious lighting

(26/8/19)

It is Saturday and we are going through another heatwave. Argh! :(

I had not ironed the last wash that I'd done, and now G is back with clothes she's washed but not ironed. I decided the early morning is the best time to tackle a job like this when it is cooler, so that's what I did! Think it took over an hour.

The rest of the day was spent trying to keep the Lodge cool by having all windows open and keeping the sun off the large windows. G had a go at cutting out sun shades using carton that was left from the delivery of the new furniture.

When it got cooler (5 pm), we ventured out for a drive. The first stop though was B&Q to return the sensor we bought when I first arrived. Frank, a friend from church had come at 10 am to take a look at fixing the light in the wardrobe and reckons he can get the same brand as what was already installed.

Whilst there, we saw a gazebo, something we've been looking at for a while to put out on the decking. At £20, there was no decision to make about "should we have it or not!"

We then went for a drive to enjoy the gorgeous lighting created on a beautiful, clear day. First stop was Jacob's Well, then Normandy, then to Farnborough and Aldershot. G was born in Aldershot, so we were trying to find the hospital. The roads and possibly the name have all changed, so it needs a bit of research on the internet first.

We got back via the A31; a road I can't remember being on before but it sure goes past some fantastic scenery. This is where my blip is from, and that is G standing in a field taking a picture. We really could have done with having her DSLR to hand!
