And breathe...

I took this photo while I was sitting up in bed this morning drinking tea (Darjeeling, with lemon) brought promptly at 7am by a crew member - the height of luxury as far as I’m concerned. Outside, the sun is still low over the Baltic as we power eastward, the coast of Finland on the port side, Estonia on the starboard. A whole day of sailing, so no pressure to be anywhere, to do anything...

Of course we did - did stuff, that is. We walked briskly round the jogging track on the top deck - a mile in the morning, another mile in the afternoon. We ordered espressos from a passing waiter and drank them while reading on loungers on deal in the sun. We ate, of course, and drank three times as much as usual - we had to, surely?

We also met some interesting and entertaining people, including a man whose gran lived in the next close to our first flat and a Lebanese Australian with a passion for music. And now I think I may have cracked the Wi-fi problem - I was going spare without my Twitter feed for political comment.

Tomorrow we dock in St Petersburg, and we have excursions to go on. Without a proper visa (ours are no longer valid) it’s the only way. I’m looking forward to it...
