Peace and war

The building is Ely Cathedral (Cambridgeshire UK), and I always find the proximity of the old Russian cannon captured in Sebastopol during the Crimean war, rather incongruous. It was put here in 1860.

I was in Ely to meet friends for lunch in a nearby restaurant, the weather was dull with light rain so black and white seemed to suit the scene.
