Special Day

We had breakfast in the hotel in the bar area that is magically transformed into a French Patisserie in the morning.  We walked to Zabar's and spent a fair amount of time there before going down to the Vessel, New York City's new attraction.  I had a wonderful time taking pictures there, a few of which I have loaded into the extras.  It is difficult to describe so you just have to look at the extras and check out the link.

As you can see, this is my 70th birthday. The day was capped off with a lovely dinner with family in a private dining room at the Legasea Restaurant.  I just had to share the cake with you because I thought it was so clever and credit goes to one of my daughter-in-laws who found the baker who created this.

I have never been vain about my age and birthdays have come and gone with none ever making me stop and think, but this one was different. I can't believe that I am actually 70 and I have become very aware that the path behind me is far longer than the path ahead of me.  Nevertheless, I am grateful to have reached this milestone in good health and with much happiness.  I am a lucky girl. (See, I still think of myself as a girl!)
