Cicada

Mae and I went for a walk yesterday after I picked her up from school, and we spotted this "body" laying on the sidewalk, so of course we had to examine it before continuing on. We were almost home when I said to Mae that I should have picked it up and brought it home to use for TinyTuesday. She told me it was okay, because she knew where it was so "let's go back and get it", & darned if she didn't walk right back to where we'd left it. So I carefully carried it home & we showed it to Grandpa, who said he thought it was a cicada, & looking online I'd have to agree. It looks to me like a cross between a fish head and some prehistoric looking thing. Many thanks to Jill/JDO for hosting TinyTuesdays this month. :))
