Chengdu - Chongqing - Yangtze Cruise

For once we had a gentle start to the day - as we didn't need to be ready to leave Chengdu until 12.30pm! So after a leisurely breakfast we had a wander round the neighbourhood of our hotel in Chengdu - including the lively, crowded local market. The vast majority of the stalls were selling food: I'll spare the squeamish among fellow blippers the photos I took of the still-alive "raw" food on sale, so the main blip just shows one of the busy alleyways in the market.

After lunch we had our third (and, for this trip, our last) bullet train ride - this time just an hour-and-a-half journey to Chongqing (yet another massive city) in order to board our river cruise boat on the Yangtzi for the next three nights. We'd expected a restful time on the cruise but it seems we'll be getting a "happy campers" call at about 6am as there's a busy day in store for us tomorrow. Oh well, we might as well get our money's worth! The extra shows the view from the prow of the boat as we set sail.

(It looks like the internet access will be via my phone while on the ship as the wifi is very slow, so I'll be keeping browsing to a minimum.)

PS Thanks so much for all the hearts and stars for my panda blip yesterday - I'm thrilled as it's currently on the top line of Page 1 of Popular!
