Traditional Plum Tart
Today is the Jeûne Fédéral in the Canton of Vaud where I live. It's a holiday and it's traditional to make a plum tart today. In the olden days, the people were expected to fast and give money to the less fortunate. The plum tart broke the fast at the end of the day.
These days, I don't think that fasting takes place, but the eating of the plum tart has remained. I made mine for tea with homemade almond pastry. It was very tasty.
