The Interstice Between Science And Art

Meet Gakutensoku, the humanoid robot built in 1928 by Nishimura Makoto, an editorial writer for the Osaka Mainichi Shimbun. This is thought to be the first robot ever built in East Asia.

A great day out at the National Museum Of Art in Osaka with my Year Four class. Next door is the Science Museum, so I took the children into the lobby to see Gakutensoku and another robot that can solve Rubik's Cube puzzles very quickly.
