Caen Hill (Thursday 26th September 2019)

When I was so rudely interrupted by the car not working just over a fortnight ago, I was on my way to Devizes with a number of undertakings to pursue. Today I did all those things, one of which was to check on the Caen Hill swans (see Extra). The cob swan was absent once again but the pen (ringed as K5J) was there with both now adolescent cygnets, all looking well. My blip shows the Moorings just above Caen Hill Café. There was a heron sitting in the pound behind the swans, and a second heron flew up to it squawking, did a circuit around the pound and flew off again.
