A long and winding road

The day began well as we set off from Bamber Bridge on our way to London, leaving behind memories of our noisy overnight stay beside the main road! The rain soon began to fall and the spray made driving conditions on the M6 quite unpleasant. One of the  worst journeys I can remember! We had to put up with some 50 miles of 50mph restrictions whilethe M6, and later the M1 and M25, were updated to Smart Motorways, whatever they are!

The bad experience began when I forgot to turn off on to the M42, which we normally take. M42, M40, M25, M3 and we're at my sister's. This time, however, I forgot until we saw 'End of motorway' signs and a mileage to Felixstowe!

Unable to stop of turn round we got throughly lost in the lanes and eventually decided to go for the M1, which was OK apart from the above road works. When we finally got on to the M25 the fuel began to drop alarmingly, so I decided to nip off to find a petrol station. That's another story! Then an accident at our turn-off held us up even longer! Thoroughly pleased to get to journey's end!

Backblipped yesterday.
