Napaljarri-warnu Jukurrpa - Seven Sisters Dreaming

I picked it up today!!! - the painting that I bought at the Warlukurlangu Art Centre, Yuendumu, on the Tanami Road, en route back to Alice Springs from the Great Sandy Desert.

I arranged for the purchase before we went out west to the Walpiri Lands, and made payment and arranged shipping when we came back.
The artist lives in Yuendumu, and is Athena Nangala Granites. Her Skin Name is Nangala, and the name of the painting is .....

Napaljarri-warnu Jukurrpa (Seven Sisters Dreaming). I'm sure Kiwis will recognise Matariki! or the Pleiades, or Subaru.

It's quite a large work with the canvas size being 122 x 91 cm.
It's going to hang above my bed - is such a joy to think about.

I'll be posting images of our trip out to the Warpiri Lands soon.

Thank you so much, everyone who has looked through the images I posted a couple of days ago, of the Bindibu Expedition, across to Kiwikurra and up through the Great Sandy Desert, through the Tanami Desert and up to Balgo, and back to Alice Springs. I'm amazed that so many of you have gone back 4 months and had a look!
Those images start at 20 May, if you're interested.
