On the Road Shetland day 3

Happy is she who gets driven to the islands of Yell and Unst with two ferry crossings thrown in along the way to fulfill a desire to see the islands off the Shetland mainland.

We have a hire car for 3 days and today we went north to meet Glasgow daughter’s friends who live on Yell and then see the famous bus shelter on Unst, which is kitted out with furniture and knick-knacks to commemorate the year of the moon landing.

The weather was perfect although it was only 5 degrees when we left the B&B. You can forgive the temperature if it’s sunny, and we had sun most of the day except when a temporary hail storm blew in.

It was a lovely day away from the stress of knitting classes. Poppy got full marks for her driving skills on and off ferries and she says she awards me a pass in navigation skills,(hardly difficult with so few roads). We make an ideal partnership.
