The Golden Stones of Beaujolais

We decided to drive up to the Beaujolais region and chose to go to Oingt, which is another of the Plus Beaux Villages de France. We got there and started looking for lunch but although we passed several places they were all fermee! Eventually we found a couple round the side and one of them, Le Table du Donjon, was open. We ordered the set menu and had a small carafe of wine and coffees after and were surprised that the bill came to €50, I'd expected maybe double that.

The villages in this area are built of Pierres Dorées, golden stone and you can see the colour in my blip of the tour d'Oingt. That's quite handy because although I didn't know what the subject of the Wideangle Wednesday challenge (hosted by BobsBlips) was but when I looked I found it was 'Stones'.

I've added some more to my album for the trip and you can see them here if you'd like to.
