The Lozarithm Lens

Regular visitors may remember my last attempt to see the Wadworth shires was blown out by a non-appearance from the equestrian twosome in Lacock. It was fortuitously appropriate that I chanced upon them today in that same village. It transpired that the last visit was called off on the day when it was discovered that the pub that they were to visit had changed hands three days before and the new landlord knew nothing about it.

As I left the NT car park on foot after my arrival I noticed the Wadworth transporter, and behind it I found Sam and Jac, who had been filming a promotional Wadworth's video and were about to return to the brewery stables in Devizes.

Most of the shots I took were abysmal due to horrific midday lighting conditions especially as I had to shoot against the light, but in this one Sam has gone inside the transporter and Jac has managed somehow to throw off the tube that covers his tail. It's a legal requirement for it to be worn so Hannah is attempting to put it back on whilst Callum holds the reins. Jac allowed me to stroke him but lost interest when I turned out not to have any sweets.

I'd gone to Lacock to have a quick look around Lacock Abbey grounds, which I did. I noticed a Tree Of Heaven in their Botanic Gardens that is 160 years old and somewhat larger than the one in my woodland garden, and some autumn cyclamen. I wandered up to the Rockworks looking to find Smokey II but he wasn't around this time, although I did see in the distance a squirrel showing off a giant conker.

It was Gardening Wednesday this afternoon and went well. Refna kindly helped me choose some blinds for the porch and study as well.
