Sleeping soundly

A new baby comes with his own microcosm.  The World is carrying on outside the apartment but we are doing our own thing, following the sleep and feeding patterns of this little one.

This morning and this evening he was awake quite happily for some time, focusing intently on his parents' faces and being distracted by patterns and lights he can just about make it within 12 inches or so.  It is endlessly fascinating to watch him whilst he is sleeping; the little snufflings and gruntings; the comical expressions when he is usually passing wind; the sudden arms thrown wide and legs kicking out as if in a dream. So utterly reliant and dependent on us for his safety and security.  So loved.
