Ha! Ha! Ha! What A Funny Clown! Let's Kick Him.

And the Oscar goes too ..... of course, Joaquin Phoenix! Just seen The Joker and it is, quite simply, one of the most powerful films I have ever seen. It's power derives largely from Phoenix's bravura performance as the 21st century's Travis Bickle, but also from the daring narrative. Could this film inspire someone to murder? Hell, yeah. But is that the film maker's fault? Of course not. Blame it on a society that's so unjust that so many "clowns" are driven so far over the edge that a mere film is enough to cause them to commit murder.

"Is it just me, or are things getting crazy out there?" Yes, things are getting crazy. More and more so by the day. Question is, just how crazy can they be allowed to get before the pressure cooker explodes? Hats off to Todd Philips for not shying away from the uncomfortable truth.

I Can Feel The Fear In The Western World

Your picture of yourself is a media myth
Underneath this floor we're on the edge of a cliff
Someone told me Jesus was the Devil's lover
While we masturbated on a magazine cover

Chorus:
Dead in the streets
Who's that girl?
Ireland screams
Africa burns
Suburbia stumbles
The tides are turned
I can feel the fear in the Western world
I can feel the fear in the Western world
I can feel the fear in the Western world
I can feel the fear in the Western
The Western world

Mama's still on valium, Daddy puts the news on
TV orphans laugh at the confusion
The audience finds itself on the stage
Fifty million people in a state of decay

(Chorus)
The party goes on behind elevator doors
While the elevator plummets from the 69th floor
All the cars lost in the scrapyards of paradise
The newspaper photographs have all come alive

(Chorus)
I can feel the fear in the Western world
I can feel the fear in the Western world
I can feel the fear in the Western world
I can feel the fear in the Western
The Western world
