The Lozarithm Lens

Smokey 0954 hr (Tuesday 15th October 2019)

Today was Gardening Tuesday but as it mostly involved planting dozens of bulbs all around the garden, which isn't very visual, instead I've chosen this shot of Smokey on his current post-breakfast abode of choice, outside the kitchen window, and in front of Refna's and my previous gardening handiwork. As you can see, rain had only recently subsided.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Bob Dylan - Pretty Saro (recorded 3 March 1970, Columbia Studios, New York NY)
This version of Pretty Saro was recorded for the album Self Portrait, with Dylan accompanied only by David Bromberg on guitar. It didn't make the cut, surprisingly considering some of what was, and if it had been it probably would have been flown to Nashville and overdubbed with country musicians and strings as many of the album cuts were. In 2013 a double album called Another Self Portrait was released in Dylan's official Bootleg Series that included outtakes and takes prior to overdubs, often superior to the released versions. Dylan returned to this song in the studio on six occasions in 1970 so it obviously meant something to him. I was listening to Another Self Portrait CD1 this morning.
