Chatham Island Forget-me-not

We visited two fascinating sites up in the north of Chatham Island today.
Firstly we went to Wharekauri, and walked down to the coast, where we saw black-tailed godwits, rare Chatham Island oyster catchers, Chatham Island Forget-me-not growing in their own environment! Super stuff. Also a little blue penguin hiding in a rock crevice, having been chased by a dog - not so super stuff, and upsetting with it.
Then on to the Nikau Conservation Reserve, walking amongst dense forest, as the Chathams used to be. It was wonderful, as were the slender and elegant Nikau palms.
