Wanderings & Witterings

Remembrance 1

Day Three of my cold, and I woke up sweating around 5.30am. A dose of Paracetamol and a couple of hours later, I felt almost human for the first time in several days.

Gave the Remembrance Sunday commemorations a miss and instead returned to bed after breakfast. By noon I felt well enough to dip my toe into rejoining society and did a bit of tidying up around the house, even did a little in the garden (last brown bin collection of the year tomorrow morning).

Drove into Falkirk to visit the War Memorial there (pictured) and back to Bonnybridge to do likewise. Popped into the shops to buy some food too. Still not 100%, still have a cough and a blocked-up nose, but beginning to hope that we're on the road to recovery. Time will tell.

Last week, new additions to the War Memorial in Falkirk were dedicated. Until then, there was no record of those from the district who had lost their lives in WWI and WWII, but two pillars have been added, each with a list of names and regiments on the front and back. Hope to visit the Glasgow City Centre and Cumbernauld Village memorials over the next few days.
