November

It seems a while since I blipped from Härnösand so here is oner of the classic views, looking across the sea-water channel separating the island from the mainland.
In the background there's the cathedral. In the foreground the jetty to which boats moor in the summer, including an electrical outlet for the posher boats.  The red bouys are for mooring the boats, the red and green poles mark the channel for boats passing by. Beyond those markers the sound is very shallow.
Unlike our local lakes the sea channel is still open, with no signs of freezing.
The early winter is perhaps the worst time to visit our area, or indeed Scandinavia in general. The cold, raw, and damp are striking but none of the prettier aspects of winter are in place. Maybe November is a bit of a dire month wherever you are?
