191 more people with clean safe drinking water

11th November 2019

Mdoko
Chamawoya is in Nkhata-bay about 20 kms away from Mzuzu city. The village is situated between two mountains. People draw water from the ponds dug near the streams. Women wake up as early as 4:00 am to draw water from these ponds but they dry out as people draw water from them. Every one gets there as early as possible to be the first one to draw water.

The village has poor roads and no hospital. I was very interested to see a certain woman who attended the installation who was very excited. The woman is blind and she said she could not go to draw water because of her blindness but now the pump is installed she can now draw water on her own. She is very happy. People in this village grow cassava and bananas.
