Sgwarnog: In the Field

The meadow area at the edge of the park, that supplied many of creature blips through spring and summer, has been mown for the winter. Hopefully I will see it again next year, starting with the cowslips.

This image has also prompted me to look up a bit more information about the building behind, which is an unusually distinctive student hall of residence.

I find that it is the Henry Price Building, built in 1964 as part of the 1960s University of Leeds masterplan. The architects were Chamberlin, Powell and Bon, the people behind London's Barbican. It's considered brutalist, aided by the prominent concrete pyramidal water tank although softened by Accrington brick. It's now Grade II listed.
