Narragansett, Rhode Island

I went for a walk while the hubbie went for a run. The temp was chilly, but the sun was warm and the water was energetic and putting on a show. 

I'm trying to decipher the Rhode Island accent: Nahwagansett. My husband is from Rhode Island so I've been here a lot, but I still can't be sure when I hear it out of context. I think I'm starting to get it, though. They say buttah, muthah, caw, and they have nasal vowels.
