Weight loss journey 01122019 - spicing up exercise

Weekly Progress report- it’s Standstill still but I’m not too concerned, at least it’s not a gain

Starting weight (25 May 2018 = 273lb)
Today’s weight = 181.2lb; last Sunday it was 182.4lb
Average weight last week = 180.6lb
Average weight this week = 180.6lb
Weight change this week = zero
Note: I weigh every day first thing and calculate weight loss based on average weight for the week.

Well, still the same weight as last week and I suppose no change is good and my body’s getting used to the new me and hopefully converting fat into muscle. Just might have recorded a loss this week if that box of Deglet Nour dates hadn’t been so tempting last night and I had limited myself to 4 or 5!!! Oh and there was the odd glass of red wine last night to wash down the first meal with red meat that I had in 10 days.

This coming week will be a struggle food wise as it’s the start of festive celebrations with Fit4Life class meal on Friday at the University Management Centre. It is so difficult, if not impossible, to avoid white carbohydrates and empty calories when you are eating out.

As stated last week it is becoming more and more difficult with less body weight to burn off the calories at the rate I used to. In addition, the body gets used to repetitive exercise and becomes more efficient. To combat this i’m spicing up my times in the gym and as well as strength and weight I’m introducing more cardio and endurance. So this week I have done 3 one hour sessions on the treadmill set for pyramid training (a rolling incline changing from 0 to 15%). On the treadmill I don’t burn as many calories as I do in Fit4Life class (workout) or weight training but it has the advantage of delivering the steps needed when competing on FitBit challenges with Laura Tailor (Fit4Life and Spin instructor) and David Binnie.

MOvember has now finished and glad to report that Marc Rodwell exceeded his £2,500 fundraising target. Congratulations to Marc on his achievements and for organising so many fun events for his fundraising campaign. Thanks also to all who supported his efforts.

Hope you’ve all had a good week and the scales are good for you at your weigh ins.
