The Edge of the Wold

Glow

One of the promised back-blips. We were on our way back from meeting Ali for a walk round Levens Park and tea and cakes in Levens Hall's newish cafe. The best cakes around, and an impressive green oak roof installed by Sue's brother-in-law.

After a crisp and frosty day with hardly a cloud, the glowing post-sunset sky was reflected in the calm of the Kent estuary. The photographers were lined shoulder to shoulder along the Sandside promenade (slight exaggeration). For those who don't know Arnside, the tapering hill is Arnside Knott where Gus and I walk each morning. There are worse places to live.
