Giant Lanterns .... Lost Worlds

This is the third year of the Giant Lanterns festival at Edinburgh Zoo. A winter spectacular of over 650 dazzling, handmade lanterns.

So many photos taken that it has been hard to choose just three. 
The Ice Age (about 2 million years ago) has just come to Europe and my bear is just standing by the entrance to his cave.

The final extra photo was encouraging us to look to the future .... to quote from the souvenir book we were given  .... 'Human activity has changed the world beyond its natural cycle and the planet needs our help'

We did enjoy toasting marshmallows ..... brought back memories of Guide campfires!
