Shearing Shed

With the forecast for more strong nor-westerly winds we opted for an early morning walk around our rural roads.....it was most pleasant, I clicked off a few from my phone.  This is part of our neighbours patched up shearing shed, it’s many years since I’ve been inside, but they are sheep (and crop) farmers so it must be adequate for their needs.
The flooding scenario continues.....the South Island both east and west coast have taken a hammering.  State highway 1, the main road on our east coast continues to be closed at the Rangitata River bridge, causing absolute havoc with travellers.  The only alternative route via Geraldine is also closed at the bridge going over the same river. The water is ever so slowly receding this evening but it will be many days before the bridges and approaches are open for the public.  Helicopters have been frantic carrying folk over the river, to get home or for other reasons.  Accommodation is at a premium, while travellers wait and wait.
The same is happening on the Main Rd on our West Coast with a ginormous slip closing the road north of Franz Joseph .... they are saying it could be closed for a number of weeks it is so bad.
And of course, while we have copious amounts of water our Ozzie neighbours are frantically praying for rain.....it’s dire over there, the fires have joined up and the winds continue to blow. Heart breaking.
Last night we lost our landline (phone) along with the internet.  The phones came back on, but we continue to be without internet, now for 24 hours.
I took this photo (and others put on Facebook) on my phone using my phone data.  I won’t be commenting tonight (or until the internet is restored for that matter), my phone data isn’t endless.

And some say there isn't Global Warming??
