ANOTHER MAJOR FIRE TODAY....

.... stemming from an already active burn has started this arvo about 40 minutes from here up in the Blue Mountains at Mount Tomah NSW.
.... a link here shows the severity.

There has already been homes lost and the concern is the condition of the bush and dry ground cover in the winds currently and predicted this week it could well be another burn linking with an already major fire in the Wollemi National Park.
Meanwhile Hobbs has been reporting on the situation up in the Blackheath, Katoomba areas and that fire is also showing concerns as the weather conditions are predicted to be "foul" mid week.

Just seems to be never ending, and will continue an issue until we get rain, and there are "maybe" some showers coming around Christmas Day  , what a superb "gift" should it occur.
Just cannot say how wonderful the 1900 fire fighters are handling the atrocious conditions.

Have a look in LARGE and check out the effect at sunset here in a pano in Flickr. The smoke to the left is from the fire they refer to as the "Ruined Castle" fire.
