Relationships

I have a love/hate relationship with agapanthus.  It's a South African native that does extremely well in our climate.  Rather too well in South Australia where it is described as a weed.

Nevertheless it is widely cultivated in gardens including OGH.  You can't deny that it is extremely hardy in our heat, and always performs well, with lovely flowers when there is little else around.

So where does the hate come in, you might ask.  The problem at OGH is that it has been allowed to spread for years; it's half a metre over the paths in some areas.  So, whilst I applaud it's ability to survive, we have to keep it under control, and that's not as easy as it sounds.

Yet another long term project!!
