Nativity 25

A poetic homily:

A Mighty Balm

We hear from the pulpits
That God sent His Son
Who agonizingly died and was done.

Though the Triune knew
it would turn the world on its head -
God's heartbreak was tremendously sad.

Separated even momentarily
Is not for the faint of heart
But it gave the Godhead a new start.

Plagued by mankind
By every rejection since Adam -
So is Jesus a Savior to Him?

For when the Holy Spirit was sent
A blanket of believers now exists -
A balm for The Almighty persists.

So as we think that salvation
was redemption for us -
God's needs were addressed just as much.

Understand our mission is not
To be constantly raising up our needs
But to delightfully lift God up with praise.
