Christmas visitor

A fun-filled Christmas Day, with lots of help in the kitchen, a delicious dinner and various games in the evening along the lines of Exquisite Corpses, but with tailored variations.

While I was taking a short break from cooking, I spotted this young ring-necked parakeet in the garden, feeding on the fat balls. It's been around for a few days and seems to now be a regular visitor to the fat balls and sunflower seeds. Briefly it shared one of our trees with a great spotted woodpecker - but frightened it away.

Back in March I saw a pair of ring-necked parakeets mating in Thorpe Wood so this may be one of their progeny. It looks like they're soon going to be established in Peterborough.

Happy Christmas to one and all!
