Bush Track

We went up to Kowai Bush this morning. It is a small reserve of native beech forest. I loved the sound of the nor’wester sighing in the trees, and the song of bellbirds. One sound missing was the background buzz of Vespula wasps, which has been spoiling the place for years. The reason for that were the bait stations dotted about. The Wasp Wipeout campaign is obviously working well.

We climbed to the top of the bush and looked over the fence. See extra shot. The strip of mountain behind is Otarama.
