The Lozarithm Lens

Calne (Saturday 28th December 2019)

Shortly after I took this picture on The Wharf I met three people coming towards me with five parrots of different colours in their charge. My finely-honed photojournalistic instincts kicked in less than two minutes later, by which time they were out of sight.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Declan O'Rourke - Galileo (Someone Like You) (2011)
Declan O'Rourke is a Dublin singer-songwriter, whose first album, Since Kyabram, included this song in 2004. It greatly impressed Paul Weller, who cited Galileo  as the song he most wished he'd written from the past twenty years. He included O'Rourke's recording of the song on a Mojo cover CD of favourite songs, Mojo Presents The Changing Man, which I listened to today, but I think I actually prefer this live rendition of the song, performed on The Transatlantic Sessions, and featuring class performers like Aly Bain, Jerry Douglas and Danny Thompson.
