Quod oculus meus videt

Sunset on Another Blipfoto 365

It’s a constant shock to me, how quickly time is passing these days, despite the constants of days, hours, minutes and seconds, each year passes ever more quickly and it is that day when I’m reminded by Blipfoto that another year has passed.  It’s something of a badge of honour that I have a complete record of journal posts taken on the same day as posting over 8 years.  It’s also a continuing challenge for the addicted (or should that be the afflicted?) and I often wonder when this continuity will be broken.

As ever my sincere thanks to all of you for your friendship, interest in my journal and support.  If it wasn’t for the unique camaraderie of this community, I am sure that I would have faltered by now.

Rather than looking back on what has been an interesting year, I’m looking forward to 2020.  I will reach my 60th Birthday later in the year (gulp).  Not really sure where the years have gone.  There are times I still feel like a teenager; on others my body reminds me of the passing of years, but I’m determined to remain active so one of my challenges will be to complete 1,000 miles of walking during the year.  The 1,000 mile challenge is sponsored by Country Walking magazine and I intend to do it ‘boots on’.  While most that know me will recognise I enjoy my walking, I still reckon it will require quite a lot of additional effort to achieve this goal.

I’m also reprising my exhibition of images from Weston Park at their art gallery from 14th January and through February.  It will include new images taken since the last exhibition on 2016.  I would have let people know earlier, but their website is still to be updated with information about the exhibition.  If you want to pop along the gallery is open from 11 am to 4 pm daily.

I’ve also offered to run a photo walk for them on Sunday 9th February at 10:30 am.  I’ll put some more information about this on the Blipmeets forum.  The owners of the Park are providing exclusive access to their gardens and parklands on that day (it is closed to the public at this time of year) for a nominal fee of £5 per person.  It’ll be a little hit or miss as far as the weather is concerned, but it would be lovely to see some blippers coming along.  I’ve chosen a weekend as previous conversations with other local blippers has highlighted that many can only make it on a Saturday or Sunday.  Even if the weather is poor, there is a delightful café on site and if you really want to push the boat out a brasserie for lunch.  More details are available on the Park’s website.

Again, my thanks for your friendship over the last 2920 days.  I'm conscious that 8 years of blipping will be complete for me on 31st December, but when you've been here for this long you're bound to have been through at least a couple of leap years.  At least the next milestone (and purple camera icon!) is only 80 days away.
