The Lozarithm Lens

Melksham (Tuesday 7th January 2020)

I could have taken this anywhere, but as it happened I had popped over to Melksham with an £8 voucher to use up at Waitrose, and, having parked, I walked up to the river at the boathouse because the light was already fast disappearing and would be dark after my shopping.

I stood on the footbridge and photographed the swan from directly above when he appeared from under the bridge. A mother and child had appeared beside the jetty with food, so he swam directly to them with three mallards in his wake.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Mulatu Astatke and The Heliocentrics - Masenqo (2009)
Mulata Astatke is a jazz legend from Ethiopia, who came to London in 2009 to collaborate with the band Heliocentrics, recording new versions of some of his seventies classics for the album Inspiration Information. This one was included on the Mojo cover disc for September 2009, Africa Rising, which I played this morning.
