Drapery

Up late, and leisurely breakfast with VG chatting about work and family, then headed off in pouring rain and heavy blustery wind to the Modern Art Gallery to see the Paula Rego exhibition. Extraordinary paintings (well, pastels) and figures, and not exactly easy to look at, but I loved the way she painted fabrics.
More chat over tea and cake in the cafe then headed back to town. Still pouring but the wind had dropped, and after VG got the train I walked home (trying to power walk rather than thinking so much about step count at the moment).
Weird afternoon....clearing up and then sanding and oiling the shelf in the kitchen and I'm not sure if it was the smell of the oil, the effect of listening for an extended period to my latest book on audible, or being tired, but I didn't get anything else done and before I knew it is was getting dark. Trying to make some plans for the next few weeks but not very successful - ended up catching up on Christine Keeler trial programme and relaxing for the evening
