Land and Lake

A view of our Land looking from the first bridge to Reguengos, sure I've done it before, but it shows the location well, though awfully foreshortened. The building we are working on currently, and living in, is the lower of the two below the right-hand tower of the castle. The one we hope to live in eventually is almost invisible in the trees above and to the right of the lower building. The higher building belongs to our neighbour, Rodrigo. They replaced the tatty netting round the lightning-struck tower of our castle this week, possibly a sign that they're starting work on repairing it, though not holding my breath.

Beautiful, sunny day, almost at freezing point, 0°C, to begin with, but the sun warmed until it was 15°C when I took this quickly out the car window.

The day turned out differently than planned because the car battery gave up; it's not that old, but we used it a lot as an electricity supply until we got the solar panels. Anyway, it meant a trip to Reguengos and, thankfully, the supermarket had one, because everything else is closed on a Saturday.

Decided to have lunch at Sr Zé's, as we'd not been for ages. Ended up translating the menu and generally chatting to a couple from New York. Impressed that they'd arrived in Lisbon yesterday, and were eating in Mourão today, especially as it was their first time in Portugal.

Gratefuls:
- getting a new battery, and Mike knowing how to replace it
- chatting to the couple from New York
- caravan all clean and ready for our youngest and her friend
