studies afield

Despite their frequent presence in and around Ayr the piglets had not yet been taken to the Burns museum in Alloway, so there they were dragged in the morning before we went up to Largs to get the ferry to Cumbrae in the afternoon. Fortunately no-one's motion sickness kicked in on the boat and the Field Studies Centre (a marine biology studies outpost which opens up for public use in holiday-times) turned out to be quite pleasant-stay-looking. Our wee car looked a bit overloaded with the bikes on the back and the roof-bag in place when viewed from the deck above on the ferry, but at least the bikes were put to immediate use to pop along to see some stones and bits of beach in the evening after the initial feeding.
