The gate stands open:
muddy tractor trails lead to

What a welcome contrast to yesterday's miserable weather! The west wind, though fresh and strong, was not too cold as our walk took us down our usual sheltered lanes. As we re-entered the village I spotted my first snowdrops of the year just outside someone's gate. (See Extra.)
