Postprandial Toilette

The praying mantis nymphs are very tricky to spot these days. They blend so well into the plants they stand on that I rarely see one. This one, however, was performing in an arena provided by a ripening honesty seedpod. The shadow was a giveaway. The black spot looks like the remains of a small insect.
