As Dusk Fell

I thought of mountain ridges when I took this shot, perhaps that's where I'd rather have been. My focus was on the shape of the snow patches and how they flowed through the frame. Aided by the low light which allowed the texture in the snow to be evident, I let the shadows fall off into darkness. The snow also describes the shape of the rocks to some extent.

Although it's a dark image, I think it allows for discovery of texture and detail in the half light. Ultimately though it's about shape and texture and value contrast.
