Crathes Castle

After lunch at the Green Pastures cafe at Westhill Community Church we thought we would have a walk at Crathes Castle and visit the gardens. We were very surprised to be told the walled garden was closed, and is now only open at weekends. This is a first as up to now the Walled Garden has been open all year round.

We were also told it would only be open in future when the ticket office was open so that people did not go in without paying. That's fine up to a point, but as members of NTS we have free entry anyway!
