Craft

Another beautiful cold sunny day. We chatted over tea about the flat refurb then headed off for a day wandering round town. Started with the May Morris exhibition at the Dovecot which was interesting....these were some beautiful baby's gloves (explanation in the extra). Such tiny stitches and perfectly even on all her items - amazing.
After coffee and a scone we headed down via John Lewis and Broughton St to Stockbridge, looking for yarn and patterns in several shops along the way. Eventually chose a pattern book for the slouchy cardigans A and Kt would like but not so much luck with the yarn.
Had a nice wander around the New Town streets and various shops we've not been in for ages, and then went to Umi the Japanese restaurant for supper. Delicious mix of small plates - gyoza dumplings, miso baked aubergine, tempura prawns, sushi, edamame beans and sweet peppers etc...all gorgeous and a good price. Walked up the hill and caught the bus home then settled down to watch the Two Popes film. Very good....
