A view from Jeanneb

Dragon food!

We called in to Cliffe Castle today for a wander around the grounds and a coffee in the conservatory cafe. There was a children’s menu entitled ‘Little Bracewell’s dragon food’.
Bracewell was Sir Bracewell Smith former Lord Mayor of London and owner of the ‘castle’  (and according to my mother a distant relative of hers!) The dragon must be the statue on the gable of the castle, seen here in silhouette against this morning’s blue sky. I took this as I liked the contrails across the sky as well as the statue.
You can see the view the other way, looking towards the conservatory, in the extra collage along with the fountains in the garden.
The sky remained blue over the house but there was cloud building from the Aire Gap which continued to creep in as we walked.
Home to some very nice spiced tomato and lentil soup made from our tomato crop last year and stored away in the freezer. Worth growing them, hope we get another good crop this year.
